Panza-Sirrell

It was a few years ago now, but reading this prompted me to relate how this woman represented my now ex-wife during our divorce proceedings. Having spent a year in mediation where, to avoid to much hardship to my children, I'd agreed to a £12k divorce settlement, which would have covered our joint debt but no divorce costs or any equity from the house (valued at £300k +), I can only assume it was at Panzer's advice but my wife then changed her demands to wanting 100% of everything. And Panzer backed this all the way to our preliminary hearing where the judge told Panzer and my wife there wasn't a judge or a court in the country that would award her 100% of everything. Nonetheless they persisted in their demands so we had to go the full monty with barristers and the works. My solicitor offered Panza a copy of our document bundle prior to the hearing which she declined. Come the day, she came to court demanding copies of documents she'd already declined, so we spent 2 hours photocopying the documents for her. I walked out of that court with best part of £70k, 6 times what I had agreed to settle for 2 years earlier. I can't see that was getting a 'good deal' for her client! She also tried to pursue my Barrister for slander after she criticised the way she had acted over the 4 years the divorce had taken, until, her barrister pointed out that anything said in court was 'priveleged' so she couldn't. As a solicitor, I'd have thought she should have known that! Last I heard she was going to sue me because she was under the impression I'd offered to pay all my wife's divorce costs. That was 7 years ago, so I think I got away with that, but I'd love to know whether it was Panzer or my ex who took the hit on that one!!!

What a sorry tale.

Seems some of these solicitors don't know their arse from their elbow and are downright rude with it. Fancy threatening to sue your barrister for slander.

What a numpty.
